VIDEO OVERVIEW

THE MARKET

The security industry is truly multifaceted in that it represents a different face to the viewer depending on the segment of the business being researched. This is particularly true for the Monitored Video segment of the security business. Using a video dealer to deter crime is not new; the monitoring of video from a remote site is a relatively new concept made possible by technological advances over the past few years. New solid state high-resolution video cameras, requiring little or no light, little or no maintenance, and offering 5-year product warranties are readily available to the industry today. These products coupled with existing, or even wireless, transmission systems, along with state of the art recording and voice-down verification systems, complete the product requirements necessary to enter this very exciting market.

BENEFITS OF VIDEO MONITORING

VERIFICATION - One of the primary problems facing the industry today is False Alarms. The vast majority of the monitored security systems in use today are verified by calling the premises and asking to speak to the owner or the person in charge of building security. In the event the operator is unable to verify the alarm as false, the operator dispatches the appropriate law enforcement agency. In more than 95% of the instances, the police determine that it was a false alarm. Video monitoring provides the operator with an additional level of verification. Video monitoring also provides a level of proof of the event for use by the law enforcement agency.
COST SAVINGS - The cost of providing security to many segments of the commercial industry is in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The vast majority of the on-site protection is provided by various Guard Services, both armed and unarmed. It is not unusual to see these individuals standing guard or patrolling areas to be secured. Most of this service is provided by minimum-wage, poorly trained employees of the agency, contracted to provide the service to the company. The cost to the company is in the hundreds of thousands of dollars each year and the results are poor at best. In addition to the cost of the guard service, the company is also exposed to a higher rate of insurance by their insurance carrier due to the nature of the contracted agency responsibilities.

Solution - CSSS VIDEO SERVICES remote video monitoring - This method of providing security will save companies millions of dollars each year while providing a much higher level of security.

HOW IT WORKS

One or more cameras are installed with a field of view similar to that of an on-site guard. Two-way audio, tilt, pan, range and focus can be incorporated into each camera. This system is linked to the central monitoring facility, which has been equipped with the proper receiving, monitoring and reporting hardware and software.
